Anisomycin is an antibiotic which inhibits Protein Synthesis. Also activates p54, MAP Kinases and Stress-Activated Protein Kinases.

Anisomycin  Chemical Formula: C14H19NO4
Anisomycin  Chemical Name: : 2-p-methoxyphenylmethyl-3-acetoxy-4-hydroxypyrrolidine
Anisomycin  Molecular Weight: M.W. 265.31
Anisomycin  Solubility: Soluble in DMSO and Ethyl Acetate.

Anisomycin  Boiling Point / Melting Point: BP/MP: 139-141C

Handling: Warning! Toxic. LD50 of < 500 mg / kg.

anisomycin is  an inhibitor of brain protein synthesis shown to have an effect on spatial memory.

"Imagine the possible benefit for people traumatized by haunting memories of terror or tragedy. The day may come when the cure is recalling the trauma, and then erasing it with a shot", wondered Dallas Morning News reporter Tom Siegfried (Aug. 28, 2000) commenting on Dr. Karim Nader's discovery that a fear memory induced in a rat and reactivated after 1 -12 days of storage in the outer part of the brain could be eradicated with a shot of anisomycin, a protein-synthesis inhibitor."

Anisomycin  is approvevd For research use only. Not for human or drug use
